For private medical billing offices

Evidence-backed codes from the practice.
Before they reach you.

You bill what reaches you. meda works one step earlier, in the practice: it writes the note from the consultation, finds the billing codes in it, and the doctor approves each one. Your process stays as it is.

The problem

The gap opens before your work begins.

What was never entered never arrives

Services are provided and documented. On a full day in the practice, some never make it into the billing data that reaches you.

You see the code, not the consultation

The evidence sits in the practice’s note, one step before your process. What was never sent, you cannot check.

Every practice sends differently

Every practice you work for documents and sends in its own way. What reaches you depends on it.

At the end of the chain

What never arrives, nobody bills.

The practice sends what was entered. What was documented and never entered, neither the practice nor you can see.

Where the codes come from

The note first. Then the code.

The doctor talks with the patient, and meda Notes writes it down. The consultation becomes a structured note, corrected by keyboard or dictation. Only then does meda Billing look for billing codes (Ziffern) in it.

Every code with its sentence

For each suggestion, the sentence in the note that supports it is marked.

The GOÄ factor with its reason

meda suggests the multiplier (Steigerungsfaktor), with the sentence from the note that backs it.

Approved by the doctor

Only what the doctor approves goes into the practice software (PVS). From there, billing runs on as it does today.

How it works

A short review in the practice.

The practice keeps its PVS. Every code goes through the same three steps before it reaches the PVS.

Who does what

The practice checks. You bill.

meda changes nothing in the work between the practice and the billing office. It joins one step earlier.

Nurses (MFA)

The day’s suggestions in one list, each with its evidence.

Doctors

They decide every code and approve every note.

Your billing office

Every code that reaches you was checked against its evidence in the practice and approved by the doctor. Your process stays as it is.

Questions from billing offices

Which PVS does meda work with?

meda works with any PVS. The practice keeps its system, and only approved codes go into it.

Why aren’t codes added automatically?

Because the decision is the doctor’s. meda suggests and shows the evidence; keeping, unticking or adding happens in the practice. Nothing goes into the PVS that nobody there has approved.

What happens in a plausibility audit (Plausibilitätsprüfung, § 106d SGB V)?

Every approved code stays linked to its note and the supporting ICD‑10‑GM diagnosis. When the KV asks, the practice can show the code, the note, the diagnosis and the approval. The same holds for private services: the evidence for every approved code stays findable in meda. More on Security.

Does meda work for the specialties of our practices?

meda already works across many specialties: from general practice and internal medicine to cardiology, pulmonology, rheumatology and gynecology, and on to neurology, psychiatry, dermatology, urology, orthopedics and ENT. More are added all the time. Talk to us and we'll show you what meda can do in your field today.

Does meda replace a billing office?

No. meda does not submit claims, does not invoice and does not collect. It works in the practice, before the billing data goes to you. Everything after that stays with you.

Do you compete with us for our clients?

No. meda sits one step earlier. Where a practice works with a billing office, the approved codes flow into the process the practice already runs with you.
